I still love Little Creatures pale ale but after several years pushed aside by this and another. Spearhead has the flowery taste I have come to enjoy but less intense than Little Creatures. I doubt it will last as long at the top as LC pale ale. Its as good as Cooper's red and green but less 'sharp' in its bite.

A - Amber body with small white head that leaves little lacing.
S - A bit of apple and bread but not uch else.
T - Citrusy upfront followed by a malty slightly hoppy taste.
M - Little carbonation and medium body. Finishes a little bit dry.
O - Not bad in the flavour department, although everywhere else it doesn't match. An ok APA.

Big fruity nose, lots of citrus. Orange amber body, small creamy beige head. Taste brings more malt to the mix, faint caramel, biscuity flavors. Finish is a bit flat, ant very bitter, but decent.

From bottle, Big passionfruit, pineapple and malt backbone notes. Taste is quite the same as the aroma pretty good beer overall. Well worth a try, nice.

330ml bottle, poured into half pint.

L - Amber, clear, thin white head.

S - pineapple with a strong citrusy smell, bread yeasts, slight omelette smell

T - sweet malts, toffee apple, pineapple and maybe passionfruit. Gets worse towards the end - bland, cardboard and slightly metallic finish.

M - a tad watery, slick texture, light bodied.

O - ok - the finish lets it down a fair bit though

I had a 330ml bottle.
Appearance: clear golden colour. Little head and does not stay. No lacing.
Aroma: mild citrus hops evident.
Flavour: some fruit sweetness on the palate and well balanced bitterness in the finish. Excellent taste. Very drinkable. Will go back for more of this one.
Overall: very good beer, well balanced and tasty. Not the most complex in its style by any means but good all rounder.

Format: a standard 330mL brown bottle with a decent label, particularly for a standard macro brewery lager.

Appearance: pours out a vibrant deep amber with plenty of very fine carbonation across the profile. A one-finger creamy white head drops to a thick cap with reasonable lacing around the glass.

Aroma: the standard American Pale Ale aromas are there, with grapefruit citrus and some pine and resin. It is a bit weak, with an odd earthen fug behind which spoils it a bit.

Taste: the flavours pick up a bit here, if a bit formulaic. Definite grapefruit citrus and pine, with some biscuit malts behind. Quite nice.

Aftertaste: a hop bitterness with some sweetness from the biscuit malts. Really quite nice, and lasts for a long time. Nice.

Mouth feel: moderate in feel with a spritzing moderate carbonation. Really does bring the flavours through quite nicely, though a bit flat in the aroma.

Overall: quite a nice APA, if not mind-blowing. A nice entry-level of the really nice APAs. A good example of the formulaic style, particularly at AU$53 for a case of 24 x 330mL.
