75cl bottle of green glass (grr!) with standard pressure cap served into De Molen stemware in Belfort, France. Bottle acquired in Belfort, France. Temperature was refrigerator cold, but not so much as to mute the flavours. Reviewed live.

A: 1.5 finger head of nice soft cream, pretty good thickness, and good retention, though the ABV isn't so high as to affect the head. Colour is a cloudy orange.

Sm: Biittering hops, orange peel/citrus ester hops, A mild strength aroma.

T: Bittering hops are present but lighter than in most double IPAs. Some orange peel and cream are present, but light. The bittering hops destroy the balance and taste, as usual for me when drinking this style. It's built standard for the style, but poorly to my tastes.

Mf: Coarse and wet. The coarseness drags out flavours that aren't appealing. It suits the style but not the flavours. Again, the bittering hops ruin it.

Dr: It's difficult to drink because of its undesirable taste. It's no Pliny - that's for damn sure. The price could be worse if you're a fan of the style, but the quality just isn't there. Fans of the style should try it, but stout lovers like me would do well to stay away.
