This is a barrel aged version of Thomas Creek's already stellar Coffee Oatmeal Stout. The original beer shines through while the bourbon barrel blends incredibly nicely adding rich deep tones of bourbon on the nose and the perfect amount of oak onto the palate. A nice pillowy head falls, revealing caramel colored lacing that the original version isn't known for, and an almost nitro mouthfeel rounds the beer out. This is a winner!!! Great to have young, as this review is based upon, but I'd imagine this beer world get even better with some age on it!
