Impressive, over-the-rim dense head. Recedes slowly in a rocky fashion. Impressive thicker lacing as a result. Dirty copper color. Hazy.
Berry sweet aroma of unfermented malt. Nice floral hop balance. Attractive.
More bitter and less sweet in the taste. The body and carbonation are what I expected them to be. The finish is like black pepper and leaves a long aftertaste.

Pours a cloudy, amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head and some tiny floaters. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and citrus/stone fruit/berry hops, with notes of grapefruit, apricot and blackberry, as well as some herbal, resinous accents. Taste is a great balance of doughy, biscuity malt and fruity, herbal, slightly grassy, floral and resinous hops, with citrus, stone fruit and berry notes of grapefruit, apricot and blackberry, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit, blackberry and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a really nice "German Pale Ale", I'm glad I was lucky to find it so fresh. Callista is one of my favorite German hop varieties and it comes through here beautifully, with notes of stone fruit and red berries, as well as just a hint of pine, I also really like the balance of fruity and herbal, bitter and slighty resinous notes here, while there's just a really fresh and vibrant hop profile to this, backed up by soft, doughy malts and finishing with a great bitterness.
