Greenish-yellow, scarce and evaniescent foam.
Light maltiness in the smell, light floral, and a light tropical fruitiness.
Taste: Light malt, a bit of white flowers, and a questionable tropical fruitness.
Too fruity for a Kölsch.

Dec. 2014. Sampled two bottles side by side (different bottle design), first bottle with BB date 31.01.2014, second bottle with BB date 30.04.2015. First bottle is 330 ml, second bottle 355 ml. ABV of both is 5.5%. Bought at CITTI-Markt Flensburg on two different occasions. The colour of the beer is significantly darker in the old bottle, deep golden vs. very pale golden. The newest version is slightly hazier, with a somewhat better retention of the moderate to low white head. The aroma of the old version is slightly fruitier, both have mild spicy notes. The flavour is fresh, fruity and spicy in both versions (slightly fresher in the newest version, as expected). Reasonably hoppy finish (Saphir). Okay.

Clear straw color with white head. Aroma is hoppy with some dank notes and a slight honey note. Taste starts sweet and hoppy with fruit notes and gets bitter in the finish with grapefruit notes. Fresh and easy to drink.

Not a bad beer.
Pours straw yellow then sttles to a golden color. Little head, bout half a finger. Leaves a bit of lacing that lasts through the drink.
Smells like sourdough bread with some hints of piney hops and a touch of apple.
The sour comes in the taste with a bit of bitterness and that touch of apple again comes through. Good carbonation with a tingle to it.
Drinks smooth, is really a good thrust quencher.
Fun little summer time brew that i wouldnt mind drinking agin

650ml bottle, again, always a strange thing to see from a German brewer. On to the suds - this is apparently 'brewed in the Rhenish style', which seems to me a sort of sidestep to admitting the inherent Cologne-based origins.

This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow hue, with two fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat bubbly bone-white head, which leaves some chunky setting concrete lace around the glass as things gently sink away.

It smells of gritty, grainy pale malt, sourdough bread, fresh apples and pears, a soft earthy flintiness, and plain leafy, weedy, and grassy hops. The taste is more grainy, crackery, and doughy pale malt, lemon and apple flesh, hard water stoney notes, and a fairly complex array of leafy, weedy, grassy, and kind of herbal hops.

The carbonation is quite active in its tingling and exploratory frothiness, the body an adequate medium weight, and generally smooth, a slight airy creaminess arising from the top. It finishes off-dry, just, the genial malt parrying the lingering noble hops only so much.

A rather enjoyable and spot-on version of this newly chic traditional German style, even if it is from a Bavarian brewer, and employing sexy, new-age Teutonic hops at that. Easy to drink, despite the moderately elevated ABV, and worthy of patio or beer garden action this coming summer, or wherever you can acquire this one.
