Clear amber brew with a distinct purplish tinge, and plenty of white foam on the pour. It's quite tingly on the tongue with plenty of carbonation to go with the sharp edge. Aroma is fruity, that acidic nose but not quite vinegary. This is tart and aromatic, while the fruity flavors linger invitingly. It's just quite acidic and will be of interest to the sour enthusiast.
The fruit could be anything, but it's an interesting and more drinkable style. The label says this is barrel aged and "fermented on hand picked Thundercloud plums grown at the Draper brewery orchard." From the 750 ml capped bottle purchased from the Draper tasting room in Roseburg for the bargain price of $10. I hope the people who wait in line at de Garde will head toward the hills to try this brewery.
