Pours a clear pale amber with a distinct berry tint. Modest foam i the Brigand chalice but quite spritzy on the tongue. This is my idea of a "sour," i.e. not having anything to do with vinegar. It's actually just tangy with a sharp edge that mellows to a fruity aftertaste. There is a brambly bit of astringency but there is just as much mellow hints of sweet malt.
This is several years old, so maybe it has all faded, but I have rarely encountered one of these soured fruit beers that has so much fruit flavor left. Peach and plum and slight hints of citrus. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the tasting room in Roseburg long ago. A nice surprise.
