The beer arrived at the table black with a notable brown and persistent head which laces...no coated...the glass.
The aroma was chocolate and coffee with a hint of butterscotch.
The flavor was butterscotch coffee and chocolate that was very smooth and silky on the palate.
The finish was dry coffee and the body was medium.
Nice drinking beer, but just a bit too much diacetyl.

This was a surprisingly bold beer for a brewpub. Brewpubs on the average seem to be a bit timid on the flavor front. Nice black appearance with good brown, big-bubbled head. Big coffee flavor, some chocolate. Very stoutish porter.
