Sampled 11/28/2010 at the newly opened Rooney's Irish Pub. This was the only house beer he had on tap at the time. It's an Irish Red Ale but imperialized, and since those seem to be classified as American Ambers/Reds here thats the style I went with.
Pours murky, dark red, tall silky tan head, low retention and lacing.
Aroma is heavy on the caramel and chocoalte with a decent amount of booze and fruity hops.
Flavor is lots of caramel, chalk, and chocolate, and decent amounts of booze, grapefruit, and bread. High bitterness and sweetness.
Body is medium and drinkability is low for a couple of reasons.
