At time of writing 'Summer Ale' does not exist as a category. Reading the description on the lable 'English Pale Mild Ale' meanwhile is the closest to the style/flavour described on the lable: '...smooth malt presence, added southern hemisphere hops... crisp. dry lager-like finish'.
L- Lively in the glass, mid-gold, hint of haze, fat 2cm white head.
S- Quite zesty and fresh - hopefully not a voguish hop-bomb.
T- It is dry to very [hoppy] dry, but not OTT. This is my first beer of the night, so my palate is also adjusting into it. It seems to have some resinous notes. Reminds me of a dry German pilsener, perhaps like Becks but with some added aromatic facets.
F- Dry, refreshing. Quite highly carbonated.
O- Could have been 'yet another contemporary hop-bomb', but this has more balance than that. It's certainly well on the dry side, but I would buy it again. Wld work best for me in hot weather [like today's mid 30Cs].
Bought in Singapore [likely Cold Storage supermarket]. 330ml bottle. BB 230719.
