12 oz bottle into a delerium tulip
pours a dark orange with barely any head
smell is subtle, but i'm getting a hefe/tripel hyrbird here
taste kinda mimics the smell...there isn't too much going on.
abv is extremely well hidden, this is an easy one to drink
definitely did justice to the style, but nothing mindblowing.

Tasted from a 12 oz bottle bought in Israel.

L - Dark gold color and slightly hazy. Head is initially off-white and pours fairly thin, then quickly disappears until there is no head or lacing at all.

S - Bready malt aromas, along with sweet bubblegum and some herbal notes. This has a very nice nose for the BPA style.

T - Flavors are also pleasant and appropriate for the style. I get bubblegum again, but fairly restrained, vanilla, then warm bread with spices, reminiscent of cinnamon rolls. Despite all those descriptors, the impression is not overly sweet.

F - Medium body and low to moderate carbonation. Medium hops bitterness. Moderate, but noticeable alcohol, although it is not boozy.

O - This is a clean, uncomplicated take on a Belgian Pale Ale. It's got a lot of the pleasant characteristics of the style without getting overly sweet and cluttered, as some examples can be. It's low carbonation is a bitt off for the style, but the only real flaw is the lack of head and lacing.

Unfortunately, I did not seek out craft beer on my trip to Israel last year. This beer was a gift from my Israeli cousin and was brought over by my aunt and uncle. Always great getting beer as gifts especially from family and from far away places.

The beer pours slightly hazy, orange in color. Smell is nice - a touch of malt sweetness and pleasant fruity notes. Taste compliments the smell at first, but there is a bit that's out of balance there. The conflict is more evident with the after-taste. A bit too bitter and boozy. Overall fairly drinkable. Mouthfeel is average.

I think it's a good beer. If readily available, this first bottle of Jem's would encourage me to try their entire line-up.

Reviewed from notes. A BIG thanks to JLindros to sharing this beer he got on his business trip through Israel. Poured into a tulip.

A - Pours a light, light straw honey hue with a thin off white head that fades slightly quick.

S - Some booze, light fruity esters.

T - Theres more of those faint fruit esters, some light booze. Some subtle caramel sweet malts. Not too bad.

M - mouthfeel is a bit too hot for my liking.

O - This isnt bad, and was actually my favourite Jem beer.

Light fizzy head fades at a med pace with decent lacing, golden orange hazy color.

Nose starts with nice Belgian malts, light fruity esters, belgian golden malts and yeast, light musty vinous chardonnay like aroma, hint of orange marmalade zest, and hint of booze.

Taste starts with plenty more belgian malts and yeast flavors, light esters, hint of spices and citrus like orange marmalade, bit of booze and slight biter phenols. Light apple and pear, hint musty vinous chard grape. finish is drier bit slightly sticky, light booze, light bitter orange zest and belgian yeast spices and fruits, esters, all linger.

Mouth is med to slightly heavier bodied, decent carb, bit of booze.

Overall nice, yeast gets a bit too strong with esters and hint of phenols, lots of fruit, malts are a bit too light.
