Cervezas Regia Toledo S.L. “Aurea”
€2,50/half pint on tap @ Cervecería Lúpulo, Toledo, ES on 01.12.23
Notes: Marked as 5.4% ABV.
Look: Clear gold body beneath a short head of white. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Limited aroma with grainy malt but limited hops.
Taste: Grainy, lightly sweetish malt with herbal, piney, and citrusy/tropical fruit notes. A firm bitterness balances it and brings it to a dry conclusion with some pine lingering.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: A few more hops would help for me as an American but this is a Spanish IPA so intensity is not expected.

On tap at the Mercado San Augustin in Toledo. Reviewed from notes dated May 28, 2016.
A-My pour arrives with a little haze, but the beer is mostly clear. A white head sits on top and retention is pretty good. A few minutes pass before the clingy foam is gone. The beer is lighter in color for the style.
S-The aroma is a mildly fruity blend of citrus flavors (grapefruit and orange) with floral notes and more traditional Euro hops. The malts are light, but they give of some slightly sweet aromas with hints of caramel and honey.
T-The taste is similar to the smell. Floral hop notes mix with some peach, lemon, and orange flavors. The bitterness is quite mild, but there is a little hoppy snap. Malts are in the background, but the beer has a bit of balance.
M-The body is lighter than average with a slightly creamy carbonation. Easy to drink.
O-This was probably the best beer I tried on my recent trip to Spain. It doesn't compete with the best IPAs out there, but if you want an above-average American IPA while in Espana, this is your beer. I would drink this again.

From hipercor. In Duvel glass. While waiting my daughter to finish Cenicienta 3 before taking her to sleep. Great, great, great hops flavor and very refreshing. A bit dull in flavor.

Hazy shiny orange with a small, but creamy white head.
Really fresh and hoppy smell, with lime, pulpy blood orange, pineapple, faint mango, faint maracuja, even some melon. Sweet floral notes, caramel, really cool, this might be a big surprise.
Huge floral hops up front, sweet and intoxicatingly perfumey at first. Mellows with nice juicy peach, overripe orange, pineapple syrup, slightly sugared grapefruit slices and some lime zest. Malts bring an "Imperial" amount of caramel sweetness, a bit too much when the beer warms up. Hops may be tasty, but they pack a really light herbal/ citrus pithy bitterness, not enough to cut off the stickiness.
Aftertaste of tutti frutti punch, bit of hop, bearable still malt sweetness. Medium body, prickly carbonation, so that helps too.
This was a really tasty, fault-free IPA. Lacks complexity, but makes up for it with intense flavors. In spades.

Clear y ellow colour with an enormous head, Smell of tropical fruits, pine, cloves. Light body, good carbonation. Taste of tropical fruits, hints of spices, banana, malty. Too poor on the bitter side for an IPA.

superb - popped like a champagne bottle but with succulent hop flavors and a rich malt backbone.

Enjoyed on Jul´11. Served in a Pint glass. Pours pale straw in color, haze to the light.White crown & pretty well retention leaving some lacing. On nose piney & intense citric aromas. Sharp bitter at first sip followed by a high resiny flavor rounded by grapefruit notes. Rough & dry sensation mouthfeel.Finishes oily & mildy buttery.Citric aftertaste. Medium body & correct carbonation.Well balanced flavors. Refreshing. Good drinkability.
