On-draught @ Cientos Restaurant. .5L for 34,000 VND.
Surprisingly estery, with a noticeable yeast profile redolent almost of German wheat ales. Pale malts, soft wheat, a hint of subtle fruity hop character. Balanced albeit simple and shallow.
Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, somewhat unrefreshing, well-carbonated.
A drinkable brew a few notches above the Vietnamese norm. Well worth trying and fairly priced, Bia Vang while nice for its country of origin will struggle to compete with the best international expressions of the style.
