As a student it was finally great to see a place that catered to beer quality, not quantity. Quarter Barrel has 8 often rotating taps offering good, and often rare beers from the popular breweries. Their selection often includes Founders, Bells, DFH, Stone, Left Hand, and more. The bottle selection is good, but fairly limited. They also brew their own in house and tend to have one to two of those selections available. I have yet to try then. Beers are fairly reasonably priced at 5.25 for a pint (8-10 oz. for high abv.) They have a small menu and are fairly popular for dinner. I have heard the food is quite good, but I have yet to stop by for dinner.
At night, this place has a great feel to it. Not only is it a restaurant/brewery/bar, it is also a coffee shop and used book store/exchange. On any given night the crowd can vary from drunk frat bros, to those reading a book or playing human sized jenga with 2X4s. When the weather is tolerable, the patio is also a very enjoyable place to hang out with friends and enjoy great beer

Oxford finally gets something right. This is a great little microbrew/craft brew pub with something for everyone. About 8 rotating taps that focus on the hoppy and high ABV. Didn't really check out the bottle selection but it appeared they had more than enough to choose from. The food is very good and they use regional ingredients in alot of their menu items, which is cool. I HIGHLY recommend the gorgonzola dip with homemade potato chips. Out of this world good. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from the college atmosphere while in Oxford and enjoy a beer in a cozy environment.
