SMASH IPA using a new hop, HBC 438.
Definitely one of the most unique hops i have probably tried, smelled and tasted like coconut. La Cumbre described it as pina colada, which I have never tried so can't make such a comparison. Some bitterness to it, but not too much or tooaggressive. I could see this hop being used in some interesting directions, I am sure rum barrels is an obvious pairing but my vote would be an imperial brown ale with these hops in some bourbon barrels. As for this beer, it was decent but not a personal favorite. I happily enjoyed my pint, wouldn't buy a 4 pack of it though.
