i didnt love this one, even though i love both la cumbre and breakside, who they collaborated with on this one, a sour ale with tangerine, lavender, and honey. i think the adjunct flavors work well together, are balanced and pleasant, and really are proportioned nicely, but i am not in love with the beer overall, a little boring without the extras, a little too sour to be drinkable, acidic but without a lot of flavor to the fermentation profile, lemony a little maybe, but mostly just lactic, a little harsh even with some honey sweetness to it. its also really under carbonated, not quite still but holding no head at all and not really being as refreshing in feel as it could be, although its still quite light in body overall. the tangerine is nice, fresh and natural and essential. and the lavender isnt like perfume, not overdone in the least, i just wish there was a little more to the beer side of it. decent but unexciting in a lot of ways, even with the cool adjuncts, i dont know, it lacks something, hard to finger it. fun to taste, but at five bucks or so for a single, i dont think it quite lived up to expectations. cool idea though, and a couple of legends doing a beer together is always neat.
