Picked up a single from the Kings Beer & Wine cooler 3-12-20 for $2.99. Canned 2-5-20; best by 5-5-20; consumed 6-2-20. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured a chilled golden with a nice white head that has some very nice hang time.
Nose is nice, fresh oranges and grapefruit come forward.
Taste is classic WCIPA, a nice medium sized pale malt base is interlaced with orange, grapefruit, and peaches. Finishes with a nice pit/rind bitterness; 7/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall a really nice regular ipa that i would have again. IPA fans should gravitate to La Cumbre as they put out top notch beers that can hang on the shelf and still retain high quality!

It's nice to find a transparently golden hued ipa in this era of hazy turbidity. The altimeter fills this role nicely with aromas of apricot, jasmine, and maybe a hint of mango tropicality. Subdued bitterness but not absent. Enough malt presence to lend some chewy body but hops are in control. More stone fruit on the back end.

A: Clear gold with rich white foamy head and solid lacing.
N: Grapefruit, floral, soapy notes, and some pine.
T: Follows the nose, pine/grapefruit hit with a splash of citrus and a soapy hit on the finish.
M: Soapy/dry feel with bitterness.
O: A decent beer but wish the bitterness was better balanced with some softness.

16oz can from a friend
Clear golden straw color, solid one and a half inch head that recedes slowly to a thin cap. Nice lacing and active carbonation as it sits.
Aroma is bright citrus, melon, peach, bready malts, a hint of pine.
Follows the nose well, the pine is a bit more assertive than in the aroma.
Medium body, semi-dry and crisp. Active carbonation on the tongue.
A nice offering overall. A Really good attempt at a west coast IPA.

A smoothed down, less bitter version of La Cumbre's Elevated IPA, with more complexity of flavor, smell, and color. It has a refreshing vibe, and perhaps something delicate and floral as well.

Pours a fairly clear gold, 1 finger of head dissipates immediately
Aroma is largely floral and grapefruit, hint of pine
Flavor hits a sweet floral note on the front, finishes on grass and resin notes
Mouthfeel is fairly light, refreshing
Overall, a nice crushable IPA, essentially a less bitter west coast brew

16 oz can, canned on 2/14/19. Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with a medium frothy white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is a bit subdued - sweet fruity malt with floral resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet cereal malt with lots of bitter, green, resiny, earthy hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, an OK IPA.

Poured into a Trillium glass a very nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger off-white head, which also leaves some very nice thick/creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, guava), nice pineyness. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, guava), pretty nice pine note. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Glad to see it around here, again.
