It’s what we’ve been doing for 8 years now. We’re really, really good at it. But we’re looking to settle into the warmer months with something just as compelling as our world class IPAs, but less elevating. Acclimated APA. It’s what IPA drinkers drink when they’re not drinking IPA.

Can’t believe I’ve slept on this for so long. It’s everything I want in a hop forward low abv pale ale. Clean malt suggests this may be from the mountains but at its heart it’s all about the west.

solid, clean, modern, enjoyed this a lot, especially with spicy food, if it were available for sale where i live i could see this being a fridge staple, just a good everyday pale, brightly hopped but well balanced, just bitter enough, but taking a nice contribution from the grain too, without being heavy, cleanly fermented, just really well executed overall. which is the norm for these guys of course. a softly frosted golden looking brew with a slow fading inch of puffy white head, looks maybe unfiltered, but its pretty close to clear still, very bright, honey toned, bubbly. aroma and flavor do the same thing here, lightly spicy mid palate hops give way to notes of lime, green melon, and herbal gin, a neat mix of hops here less familiar than i kind of expected it to be, a lot of hop personality, bitter enough, refreshing. some oils on the palate drive up the perceived intensity i think as it warms a little bit, a little noble thing late, some bite and some snap on the swallow, slight middle malt sweetness earlier on but its all hops late, thirst quenching and buzzing, fresh as can be, loved some green chili and i could have had a half dozen cans of this easy. as good as i anticipated it being, maybe even bitter, i love the the hop profile is as distinct as it is, i could pick this out of a crowd of pales after just one can, nice lighter medium body, big bubbled carbonation, and delicious hoppy linger. excellent.

To each their own. Some soar, while others walk. And in my life, I feel like I’ve walked and soared…and strutted - maybe once Raul has strutted. All said, while I drink Acclimated, I am an eagle flying at the highest depth. I just snagged a rabbit for dinner, and I am flying into the horizon. Acclimated makes me feel. And isn’t that really what we want out of life, to feel?

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a two finger head; excellent retention with squiggles of lacing left behind

Smell: Biscuit malt with earthy, fruity hop tones; smells almost English

Taste: Malt forward with sweet biscuit flavors laying down the backbone; stone fruit and earthy hop tones emerge, through the middle; the finish delivers a blend of all the elements

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A pleasant pale ale that reminds me of the English Pale Ales I had years ago

Thanks, kevindp9, for the opportunity

Picked this up in New Mexico on my way back from the left coast over the summer, as I didn't have anything from the Land of Enchantment in my label collection. Only had one brew before from La Cumbre and like that, this was a clear winner as it didn't stay in my pint glass for long and was one of the better American Pale Ales that I've had in quite some time!

This had a nice, golden hue to it with a bit of dark sediment settling to the bottom although I'd blame myself for that since I had to haul this home before reviewing it on here! Plenty of foam topped it off as the lacing left behind was quite voluminous with some nicely-defined rings standing out amidst the suds. Deep citrus, orange blossom fruit, white chocolate, bread, and grassy spice filled the subdued nose as the taste burst forth with all of those in a harmonious way. A bit of biscuit emerged as this warmed up with the taste being quite crisp - as if mineral water was used here. Balanced, bright, and plenty tasty, this was a textbook example of what an American Pale Ale should be from start to finish with a slightly oily consistency and hint of earthy hops in the aftertaste.

Booze? Is it here? Who cares when you're enjoying this so much! While not a true session beer, this calls for another round once it warms up, and you warm up to it. Balanced, not overly full of citrus and completely pleasing on the palate, this would indeed be what IPA drinkers would reach for when not drinking IPA. Neither like it's counterparts on either coast, the feel and impression I got from this was truly unique, as it's hard to imagine anyone not becoming acclimated to this. Easily worthy of being La Cumbre's flagship beer!
