German design, from Bauhaus modernism to contemporary poster culture, has always been sleek, crisp, efficient, with a tendency to design honestly and focus on the necessities. It allows for the true artistry of simplicity to shine through. But don’t be fooled by an absence of complication, minimalism is one of the hardest things in design to execute well. And much like modernism, german or otherwise, a well-executed Pilsner is truly a thing of beauty. Minimalism creates a beer that is beautiful in its crisp, efficient simplicity. A simplicity that is deceivingly complex and beautiful. Brewed honestly and with a focus on necessities, this is one of the hardest beers to get right, and this german pils might just be a masterclass in German design

Here's another thank you to leftpaw for bringing this out to Thanksgiving '21. Sticker still up at the elementary school parking lot. This was a good one.

Pours a brilliant golden color with professional grade clarity and 3/5" white head. She's a looker. The aroma hits the dry hay, lager yeast, pilsner malt trifecta. Oh, maybe superfecta because there's like, classic Saaz like hops going on too.

The taste is solid, good breathy hit of that yeast, light prickly-ness of hops and carbonation contribute to the crispness of it all. Ggreat dry back end, solid golden waves of grain pilsner barley. Really well done pilsner that doesn't rely on being overhopped or "Italianized," not that those beers aren't any good, but you know, a regular to slightly more than average hopped pilsners are ok too. Not sure what reviewers are talking about when they reference the sweetness, didn't come off that way in any amount to me.

Anyhoo, this beer does everything really good. Would be a staple in the fridge if available to me.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 10/21/21

Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice clean/clear golden pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves a pretty nice medium size island, and some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice malty, hoppy, slight yeast note, lemony/grassy. The taste is very nice malty, hoppy, kinda yeasty, very nice sweetness, lemony/grassy. Medium body. Overall, this is hitting the spot, very nice thirst quencher. This one is true to style.

Sparkling clear, pale golden body; excellent carbonation; thick and frothy white head; thick sheets and rings of foam cling to the glass. Light malt nose in the smell with a delicate herbal presence. Mild cracker flavor with a moderate hop bitterness; grassy and herbal notes. Light body; crisp; semi-dry finish.

This is a nice German-styled pilsner, light and clean tasting with a nice hop bitterness and aroma.

Poured at 49.6 ℉; no canning data seen on the can.
