I just added this beer to the database. I'm going to write a review for it too, because I'm not some sociopath who just adds the beer to the database for the karma points and rolls out.
Pours a hazy lightly watered down orange juice like appearance. Anyhoo, like all New Mexico beers, this one was brought out courtesy of leftpaw. 1/2" creamy white head. Looks good for hazy ipa. The hop lineup looks killer on paper, but doesn't achieve such great heights in execution. Nelson, Strata, Sabro and Simcoe are some bangers. I dunno if they canceled each other out to some extent, but this came off like Citra and all those strawberry, weed, dank down under guava notes just didn't match up with expectations on paper.
The taste and mouth feel lead to some speculation as to what happened to everything but the Simcoe. The Simcoe is strong. The flaked aspect of wheat/oats seems more done as an appearance thing, this has an upper echelon amount of bitterness for a hazy ipa. That pine and rind Simcoe dominates, seemingly displacing many of the attributes the other hops usually represent. Represent Represent. One of the better Nas songs.
For all the greatness that La Cumbre can pump out hop wise, this one falls into merely being pretty good. Would still bang again.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
