Locally roasted blue corn and an eye toward the Summer months has us stoked on this sessionable Mexican-style lager.

This is one of the best "American brewed Mexican Lagers" that I have had. A bit better than Alesmith Classico. Very crisp with a significant initial head that fades pretty quickly. This is a "light" beer with a clean taste that is great with food , or after a day in the sun.

Light Mexican-style lagers generally aren't my thing, but I was intrigued by the blue corn, so I gave it a shot. Glad I did... this is an unusual but tasty beer. You really do get the blue corn taste in there, which is a nice change of pace from the lime flavor that seemingly everyone puts into their Mexican lagers. It's got a fuller flavor to it, so it doesn't just taste diluted. See, you can inject a lot of flavor into a light beer, even if it's an odd flavor to use.

Pours a crystal clear pale straw color with a sudsy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Looks beautiful in the glass. The nose phase some grass and subtle lemon from the hops and cereal grain. I’m not getting a lot of corn.
The grassy flavor leads the taste, with a bit of lemon that is quite nice, with some cereal grain and maybe a smidge of corn that is a subtle sweetness at the back of the palate.
The mouthfeel is clean and crushingly crisp, making for a very drinkable Mexican lager. I’d love to have a couple of pints of this with a Stuffed Sopaipilla covered in Hatch chilies from Sadie’s in Albuquerque.

Pours clear pale yellow with a persistent finger of white head. Nothing unexpected here, a light lager with subtle notes of corn, but very clean and sessionable and hits the spot on a July day. Subtle without being watery. A summer crowd pleaser.

Aroma of grain and corn, faint herb.
Grainy taste, faint corn and herbs.
Great summer beer, but nothing special.

Crystal-clear, pale yellow body; light and coarse carbonation; somewhat thick head, white and loosely sudsy. Very nice cereal grain and light corn nose; delicate herbal notes. Light, clean flavor; weak malt flavor; imperceptible corn taste; light to moderate hop bitterness; a tad grassy and herbal. Light body; crisp.
'No great shakes' aptly describes this beer. A very suitable hot weather thirst quencher, but not much as far a distinctive looks or flavor.
