Growler from GHB. Thanks!
Clear pale golden body topped by a clinging two-finger head. The nose is unadulterated nelson. Dank, floral, slightly oniony, reminiscent of gooseberry, marijuana, pineapple, gym socks and cat piss. There's little perceptible malt to the aroma. It's equally hop-forward on the tongue, but emphasizes the white grape and gooseberry flavors of the hop. There's a touch of weed and onion still, but it's less expressive than it is on the nose. Malt provides a crackery, clean and subdued backbone, though there's plenty of body. The beer isn't sweet, and it isn't particularly bitter either. It's really just a showcase for nelson sauvin hops. I love this hop, and this beer displays all of its complexities in a light, sessionable package.
