Appearance: Crystal clear pale yellow body topped by two fingers of clinging froth.

Smell: The aroma is spot-on for the style: bready, doughy, slightly nutty and sweet. A touch of sulfuric yeast and the slightest note of grassy hops. Very clean and appealing.

Taste & mouthfeel: The palate is outstanding. Creamy, malty, exceptionally clean and perfectly balanced. Doughy, bready, lightly toasted and nutty malt flavors up-front, with a whisper of grassy noble hops lending balance. Light in body, with an absolutely perfect level of residual sweetness. I wouldn't call it a sweet beer, per se, but it isn't bone-dry, and it's pretty light in IBUs, making for one seriously quaffable and delicious lager.

Overall: Great recipe, great execution. La Cumbre really excels at these traditional German lagers. This rivals just about anything I've had in Munich.
