The pint of Red Red Rye arrived, after a pull on the cask, a very dark amber color with a pleasant cap of creamy foam. The aroma has spicy rye mixed with bitter floral and pine hops. On the palate the body is smooth and creamy like many cask-conditioned ales. The flavor profile starts with some sweet caramel malt and really nice bite from the rye. It blends into a bitter end with lemon rind and floral notes. A nice tasting rye.
