A: Very dark brown pour, with a thin off white head. Looks nearly black until held up to bright light, and some can be seen through.
S: Roasted malt and toasted chocolate in the smell. A hint of bitterness and a little whiff of the peppers present in the beer.
T: The roasted, sweet chocolate notes come out first, but aren't overly so, like some dark ales might have. The chili flavor comes out in the swallow, making a nice complement to the initial sweetness.
M: Bitterness lingers, sitting on the tongue. Not too rich, though, and the chili flavoring actually seems to add something of a lightness to the feel.
A well done beer, one of the better ones PC has brewed.
