Really well balanced combination of style, flavor, hops, barrel aging and ABV, pulled of by a small Belgian influenced brewery in a small beer crazy city.....Loved it.

A: Bright yellow in color, absolutely crystal clear in color with a white head that dissipates fairly quickly.

S: Bug vanilla and oak in the nose with tropical hop aroma, and stone fruit.

T: Big vanilla and oak flavor, followed by sweet tropical fruit, and stone fruit, the finish is a touch of resin, with a hint of booze and lingering bourbon in the finish with a slight Belgian kick.

M: Medium in mouthfeel, with effervescent carbonation, and a bit of a syrup finish.

O: Lovely. A really interesting brew, and my first from this brewery. Sometimes a big hoppy brew can fight the barrel flavor, but this one seems to meld well.

Poured from can into tulip. Semi aggressive pour leaves little to zero head. Orange colored body. Smell is mostly citrus, tropical fruits and some barrel. Taste is where it's at. Soft, sweet mango candy, hints of grapefruit, bourbon, wood and a F ton of vanilla. Nothing overpowering but so well blended. An amazing BBDIPA.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Listed at 11.6% on the can. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, and grass; with lighter notes of vanilla, honey, toffee, banana, clove, bubblegum, pine, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, and grass; with lighter notes of vanilla, honey, toffee, banana, clove, bubblegum, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast, bourbon/oak spiciness, and pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, cracker, white bread, floral, grass, vanilla, honey, light banana/clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/sticky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is extremely well hidden; a very mild warmth with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic BBA Belgian DIPA! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, bourbon barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Perfectly balanced between yeast, hops, and bourbon barrel complexity; with just enough pale malts for balance. Never sweet or heavy feeling. A highly enjoyable offering.

Had on tap. Cloudy golden body with a finger of white foam. Vanillins and oak from the barrel rise to meet the citrus forward hops, belgian yeast, pineapple, mango, and peach. Taste is way less fruity: dropping the citrus notes, and cutting the intensity of the peach and tropical notes, bourbon is faint but oak is strong, vanilla, resinous pine and yeast win out. Feel is chewy, darker feeling despite appearance, hop bitters pull through well with sneaky good barrel character

Smell: pineapple orange zest vanilla and some spiciness
Taste: taste lots of vanilla upfront middle of the mouth a spicy bourbon pineapple finishes with a orange cream Sicile taste and some more of that spiciness.
Feel: don't let the color fool you this is a big beer a definite sipper.
Overall: very interesting. A nice beer to sip on.
