Picked up a can of this when visiting the brewery back in '14. Came in with an appearance more akin to some of the older orange hued double ipas from the last decade. 1/2" off white head. Discernable hop quality to it along with a strong yeast profile. I mean, for belgian ipas, we're already showing more promise than your average one.

Taste drops a mixture of citrus hop flavor and pungent yeast flavors. Relatively dry, just a big phenolic blast. As a belgian ipa its good. Won't make me stop drinking good American ipas though. Pretty sizeable bready dough malt component to it without getting overly thick or heavy. Its definitely one of the more unique ipas I've had. Wasn't too heavy on the clove, just a big phenolic yeast presence and orange rind bitterness.

Appearance: hazy, orange-gold color; thick pillowy white head

Aroma: nice citrus notes; hops; caramel; a little bready

Taste: I like this quite a bit; starts citrusy; moves into a pretty decent grain bill; hits the hops on the finish with some big yeast/bread flavors; slight citrus

Mouthfeel: medium bodied; kind of clingy; a little bright

Overall Impression: I like this quite a bit, a cool Belgian IPA; the big bread and yeast flavors make it really interesting, especially with the high citrus and decent hop bite; a cool beer, but certainly not a classic IPA and not a hop bomb

A: A muted medium amber in color with a light tan head which turns into a rocky pock marked surface.

S: Grapefruit and lemon peel up front, followed by a lovely Belgian fruitiness, and clove in the finish.

T: Lemon peel, and grapefruit up front, then some lovely Belgian notes.. stone fruit, clove, and a touch of bread. Finish is lemon peel, and a touch of earthiness.

M:Medium, but the effervescent carbonation makes it feel lighter. A fairly long bitter cling on this.

O: Overall really interesting, and really enjoyable.

solid IPA. not a go to though.
Look: deep amber color with maybe some orange. It was pretty clear.
smell: wheatey smell with a solid hop note. Not super aromatic but has some spiciness.
Taste: not as much flavor as i was expecting. Not very bitter either. some subtle fruit notes.

Aftertaste shows a well-rounded flavour of a lot of hops, some light malt and a good deal of the belgian yeast strain. Overall, a well-balanced beer that hits the right notes,

It has cloudy orange/brown color. Smells like citrus and a little soapy. It doesn't taste much bitter than other hoppy, with citrus aroma. The aftertaste is earthy and refreshing.

The color was extremely reminiscent of a pumpkin orange/amber. The smell and taste is both citrus and apple-like, as well as some hoppy with pine or earthy aftertaste.

This has a cloudy golden brown/orange look to it. The smell and taste is like orange citrus but also has a sour/bitter taste. Overall, its a bit too bitter for my taste, so it's not one I would not seek out.

Pours a hazy golden brown color with a lace of head. Aromas are mild, but are crisp. Belgian yeast is quite prominent and hops are not over powering. Overall a very good Belgian IPA. You can definitely tell it's taken from the American IPA.

Poured into a Wicked Weed snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a reddish dark amber color with a 3/4 inch light tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.

S- Kind of a soapy aroma and not much else...

T- Sweet crystal malt with some minimal hop flavor. Also not much Belgian yeast character. Mild bitterness.

M- Slightly sharp from the hops with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- Pretty easy to drink but unimpressive.

Already into a meeting meal in which three beers had already been shared, my palate needed to be cleansed and Triomphe worked. This went particularly well with Mexican food from one of Rick Bayless' kitchens, Oxo. I had a seared vegetable sandwich.

The spices in this beer give me cause to pair with Mexican-like spices again.
I do not regard this as a session ale: hops and spicy food for me.

This beer is golden in color. It is slightly sweet and has mellow hops, but definitely still apparent. This contains a classic Belgian yeast strain that gives way to sweet yet complex aromatics, and lastly rounds out with citrus notes to create a very balanced IPA.

This beer has a light golden brown color. It's scent is unique and refreshing as it is hoppy and pine-like. The taste holds strong hops, is rather warm, and has sour and bitter notes. The texture is hoppy and has a bitter aftertaste.

I like this beer better than the other Brewery Vivant beer, this one has fruity aroma with a little sweet tasting. Sweet orange peel and yeast flavor.

Dark amber color. Citrus scents and taste with an interesting undertone of pine mixed in with it.. Hoppy and earthy. Good beer! Would order again but only at the brewery for best flavor.

When poured, this beer has a good amber color, almost dark caramel. It had a great head of bubbles that disappeared rather quickly. It has a citrus aroma, earthy and piney. This could be hops as well. It was a sweet tasting beer, I could full hops out of it but not as much as other IPAs. Overall very good. I would drink again.

This beer appeared darker in color, more of a golden brown. When it was first poured it was bubbly, had a wheat smell/taste to it. It was also fizzy after taste.

This beer appears more golden, caramel-tinted and rich in color. Tastes very "pine-y" with citrus undertones. Very hoppy, but pleasant and flavorful. I found it lingering but very well balanced. I would definitely drink it again!

At first glance this beer is a dark golden brown. It has a strong hoppy and pine-like smell that is very intriguing. The head is a few fingers. The first taste is sour and bitter, with a very strong hoppy feeling. As it goes down, you can feel a warmth in your throat. This is a really great IPA. It has the bitterness that you want with hops, but just enough to make it tasty and refreshing with a crisp palate!

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color capped by a large-bubbled head that fades rather quickly; not much lacing at all

Smell: Herbal, resinous hop tones with a caramel base

Taste: A caramel foundation, with grassy, piney hop flavors developing; a hint of banana, some stone fruit and then a bitter metallic finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: An easy drinker but lacks the Belgian complexity and dominant hop tones; a bit more like a hoppy amber than I would like

By far my favorite Vivant beer! It had a great hops smell and taste. It is an orange colored beer. But oh goodness it is really good! It is a little bitter but overall a great beer!

Exactly what you would expect from a Belgian style IPA. Its bitter yet flavorful and is exactly what people think when they are thinking of a craft beer.

The color of this beer is a dark yellow/orange. The aroma you get is a slightly herb smell and is kind of weak. Tasting this beer is strong with a tanginess and is really unpleasant to drink.

Had this on 2015-04-20 in Columbia, PA from a 16 oz can

A - Clear orange-amber with a 2-finger pillowy off-white head and nice lace.

S - Perfumy Belgian yeast vies with citrus, mint and floral hop aromas in an appealing way.

T - Caramel, orange and pineapple flesh for sweetness, potpourri (sweet/bitter/herbal), mint, a touch of pine and some orange zest bitterness to round things off. There's some residual bitterness but it is restrained in a good way.; bordering on a Pale Ale instead of an IPA. Dry enough but the bit of lingering sweetness works for me. I really like this flavor profile.

M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. Refreshing. Almost crisp.

O - This one surprised me. I'm not the biggest fan of hoppy Belgian IPAs but the restrained perfumy esters and not making this beer dank or overly bitter strikes the right balance for my taste buds. Best Brewery Vivant beer I've had so far. I'll seek this out again.
