A batch of sour barrel aged Solitude, on tap at the brewery.
Tart nose, pie cherry and breast malts, hints of oak and a thin white head. Smells of pepper, spice and caramel. Taste is tart up front, oaky in the middle and lingers with a dried out caramel and raisin finish. A very enjoyable beer, if mildly unrefined.
I hope for more sour offerings from Vivant, especially when they hit cans.
