On tap at the brewery, poured into an oversized wine glass.
A- Clean copper body. Thin, off-white head leaves good lacing on the glass.
S- Sweet. Lots of maple and brown sugar. Pretty malt-centric.
T- As aroma suggests, loads of maple. A smoky flavor that seems to be the signature of Vivant's yeast strain. Seems pretty appropriate for a Michigan fall.
M- Full, thick body. Light bite from the hops and carbonation.
O- I love maple syrup and maple flavored foods, but this was a touch on the sweet side for my expectations. The menu suggests bringing some home for a campfire and that seems fair enough. I'm sure it could make for one heck of a food pairing. On its own, the pint+ was more than enough for a sitting.

Pours amber in color with a one finger head that has great retention.
Smell has some good tart Belgian notes to it, similar to tart green apples. There are also hints of sweet maple and cedar like wood aromas.
Some sweet malt comes out in the taste and is followed by the Belgian yeast that is overlayed with more maple notes with a hint of woody richness.
Mouthfeel is great, light feel, good carbonation and a hint of tartness from the Belgian yeast.
Overall this was an awesome amber ale. No ingredient dominated over another and hints of sweetness but not overly sweet by any means
