Hopstruck is a beautiful red IPA that manages to strike the perfect balance between caramel maltiness and citrusy, tea-like hops. With a delightful bouquet of jam and preserved fruit resulting from Munich & caramel malts combined with Sterling & Cascade hops, it’s no wonder Hopstruck is one of our most popular beers!
Pairing suggestions: Hopstruck is just bold enough to stand up to both spicy and rich foods like Thai, pork belly, juicy burgers, and blue cheese. Yet, it is citrusy and gentle enough to pair with lighter foods like salads and buttery soft cheeses.

16oz can: this one pours a slightly hazy amber color. Pretty good sized light beige head on it. The aroma is mainly caramel malts and grapefruit hops. The taste is good. A bit of a bite, but not too much. Grapefruit, citrus and pine hops. Good malt body. No residual sweetness. A decent brew!

A - Dank murky red - almost no head retention
S - malt with a hint of hops
T - More like an ESB vs an IPA. malty with sweetness with a bitter finish on pale ale level. Hop finish is pine like with i hate to say but - sawdust .
M - Medium body almost pale like I had to check the ABV at 6.4
O - This was ok. did not like the sawdust/ sand finish

THROWBACK HOPSTRUCK IPA 7/15/17
Single 16 oz. can purchased from the brewery's booth at an Exeter NH farmer's market No date on the can but it is assumed it was fairly fresh.
a: Translucent ruby/copper with an inch thick white head which receded to a few spots of surface foam and lacing.
s: Caramel malt and dark fruit such as prunes.
t; Mild caramel malt with a light to moderate hop bite with peppery spice notes. Finish is both sweet and bitter.
m; Medium, good body and carbonation tingle.
o: A well balanced red IPA which pretty much fills the as-advertised bill, although citrus was not evident to us. The announced 72 IBUs also seemed a bit muted.

L: This is an appealing looking beer. Monster, frothy head, like something you'd get if you lived in a cartoon world. Its an almost exaggeratedly frothy, messy head, tons of lace. Great retention. Beer is amber/mahogany colored, pretty clear, tons of carbonation visible.
S: Aroma comes off pretty faint, but what I get is strong peppery hops, almost like bell pepper. Flowery, spicy, herbal, maybe a touch earthy.
T: Malt bomb. Malts are superb here. Have a doppelbock like dark fruit flavor, though I will admit its faint. Otherwise, malts are toasty, grainy, like a nice lightly sweet toasted granola. Hops round this out though with a nice dry finish. Repeat the nose, very herbal and peppery. Bitterness is on the lower end.
F: Silky, frothy mouthfeel. I like this full yet light mouthfeel in an IPA, pairs nicely to balance out the astringent qualities of the hops, keeps the drinkability high.
O: Has a UK IPA feel to it, though it is definitely different. Malt, hops, everything is assertive yet balanced so well. Honestly my kind of IPA. Nothing blows you out of the water, its just well rounded and well executed. Something I will definitely be drinking more of. Can see this being hit or miss with some people as its not like a fruit bomb, hop bomb, piney bomb, whatever bomb, but works well for my palate
