we decided this one tasted a bit like "guiness light", poured a thing brown color with an impressive frothy head. nose was spot on, all dark and bold, with notes of dark chocolate. flavor wasnt bad, but the mouthfeel left a lot to be desired. watery through and through with a very forgettable slightly bitter aftertaste. recognizing that this is a fairly new operation, i will give this one a little slack, but just doesnt measure up to what ive come to expect from a microbrewed stout. the good news is that it was very sessionable, as it doesnt sit in the gut. so so

Half pour served in a clear plastic cup, this was a shade darker than the "Nut Brown Ale" and seasonal "Red Ale", but still not opaque black. It tasted pretty close to the others, but with a hint of roastier malt thrown in. Tan foam left some spotty lace, and stuck around for duration of the small glass.

Aroma was pretty vague, husky grain and barely any roast flavors, it had that "too young" homebrew aroma to it. Still it was somewhat passable and inoffensive.

Flavor had a hint of roast, some light tobacco bitterness, and a dry finish. Seemed force carbonated. Body was too prickly and thin for a stout. Not a growler candidate, but the best house beer I tried here.
