Riedenburger Brauhaus

 

The brewery itself is a large, rather nondescript building. They do have a small lobby there with info on their biers and such, and as a starting point for tours (though none were scheduled during my visit). The "beer bar" part of this is actually a Biergarten consisting of a bunch of small tables and benches under lots of sprawling chestnut trees. The bier is available at a counter opening from a large, barn-like building next to the brewery. Meander over and tell the young Fräulein what you'd like. Simple as that! They offered 8 biers on this day, all bottled: Pils, Helles, Einkorn, 5-Korn, Export Hefeweizen, Plankstettener Dinkel, Plankstettener Dunkel, and Plankstettener Spezial. I had the Hefe and Spezial on this visit; both quite nice. The young gal behind the counter was very helpful, especially with what they offered and where to find it in town. They also offer light eats here, like Brezn, bratwurst and meat/cheese sammiches, though I was only here for the bier! The day was sunny and warm, and it all made for a pleasant visit.
