Look: Deep copper color that is crystal clear. 1-finger head and pretty low on carbonation. Head recedes quickly, but stays a bit active with some lacing and a small foam ring around the outside.
Smell: Hops, malt, and spices. Rye gives it a nice spicy/earthiness. slight sweet caramel.
Taste: Small hop bite at first, followed by rye and some spice. It gets quite sweet, caramelly, and malty. Pretty savory and almost buttery tasting.
Feel: Medium bodied. It is a bit syrupy and oily. Low carbonation but still ok.
Overall: Enjoyed this one. Great Pale Ale even if it didn't have a lot of rye flavor. It's a really good base beer and only gets a bit more interesting with the added rye.

I must've gotten a bad 16oz can. No carbonation and stale taste. Picked up from liquor store near brewery. Ugh.

Pours a deep amber with a strong head. Slight rye smell. There is moderate rye taste. Strong on sweet malt. Decent carbonation. The beer goes down smooth. Not spectacular, but a decent enough sipper.

a little generic this one, maybe a bit tame on the rye malt, its more of a dry red ale to me than a rye beer, although its hopped pretty aggressively with west coast style, giving it a resinous character and plenty of bitterness to balance out the malt in the finish. it does hold much of a head in the pint glass, but its very fresh right from the tap at the brewery, and has a nice hoppy nose, hints of pine in there. the flavor is good, its just not as distinct as it could be, pretty safe on the rye i think, although its definitely in there, giving a little kick to the caramel malts and adding plenty of body. its rather dense, a little filling honestly, one pint was enough, although i have no real issue with the mouthfeel, i like a sturdy red this time of year. well made beer, but the recipe could get a little more inventive.
