Morning Rush is the forth release of our Barrel Project Series. This Imperial Breakfast Stout was infused and conditioned with pure New England maple syrup, locally roasted coffee, Ecuadorian cocoa nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans. We took a blend of three different types of Tioga-Sequoia specialties and aged them in Woodford Reserve, Rye Whiskey, and Rum Barrels for 9-14 months. The blend is bursting with espresso and maple in aroma and flavor with soft notes of whiskey, vanilla, oak and chocolate. This beer is a delightful melody of breakfast flavor. All the mornings, aged in barrels, and harmoniously combined in one beer. Enjoy the Rush!

16oz bottle poured into 12oz goblet. Poured a solid black color with just a thin tap of tan head that had no retention or lacing.
The aroma was very busy; maple, coffee, barrel, beer, and a bit of alcohol heat.
The flavors were similar, but better defined. All the different aspects blended together very nicely, with nothing dominating.
The body was solid, but thinner than I would have liked for beer this big.
Drinkability was very good, if I had had another, I would have opened it right away. Although, I wouldn't mind trying a bottle with a year on it, to see if the coffee mellowed out any. Overall, a very nice brew, a must-try if you see it.

Pours a deep brown to Black with a thin medium brown head on heavy pour that dissipates quickly . Nose is maple up front with candied bourbon and roasted chocolate malts. Taste is divine maple syrup! Morning rush hits you early with the star of the beer, Maple! Notes of creamy chocolate light vanilla, caramel and coffee follow. Slight bourbon burn on the end but not overpowering. Bourbon becomes hotter as the beer warms but the maple syrup also shines more as it warms as well. Because of that the bourbon burn is never too hot and is always muted to some extent by maple. Small amounts of charred oak at warmer temps as well. On the thin side for a syrupy Barrel aged imperial tho. If you love maple syrup or maple beers you’ll love this one.

Poured from 500mL glass bottle into 16 oz tulip glass. Bottle winter of 2017. ABV 12.5, IBU 35. Bottled 12/12/17
Look: Pours dark brown with coffee looking appearance. No head or lacing on glass.
Smell: Heavy notes of maple up front, with chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and hints of bourbon.
Taste: Sweet, with great balance of maple and chocolate. Phenomenal tasting, delicious. Bourbon masked very well, with slight burn in after taste.
Feel: Feel is medium bodied, and thin. Light on tongue, no carbonation. Syrupy feeling.
Overall: This is one of the best maple bourbon stouts I have had. Sweet hints of maple with chocolate, malts and coffee backing it up, with bourbon aging blending it all together in a perfect fashion. I highly recommend.
