This was another beer that I picked up at Crane Flat in Yosemite National Park last summer and took a while to get around to. Loved visiting the place and with a name like this, how could I not give it a go?

Sure, this could have been a little less one-dimensional but it was true to from from that pout on out. Straw and opaque in hue, plenty of quiet and fast-settling head topped this off as there wasn’t any lacing be seen once I took a few sips. Wheats and strawberry patch filled the nose as some malt, lemon-lime soda, and clove emerged in the taste. Smooth, full, and unoffensive, this even fizzed like soda when I poured out the remainder of the can.

Some grass and a bit of coriander was in the aftertaste as a bit of spice and bread kept this from feeling too flat (no pun intended). Canned on what looked to be the 167th day of last year, this was a worthy beer to pack into a National Park to end a long day of hiking. A bit of citrus and banana would have made it great but as it was, I enjoyed it on this mild late spring afternoon!

Can poured into a Tioga Sequoia Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours slightly hazy pinkish golden amber with a frothy rosé head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.

S: Fresh strawberries, plus subtle additional fruity notes, a little twangy wheat, and biscuity bready malt.

T: Fruity, strawberry plus hints of apricot and dare I say melon, subtle grassy notes, a little wheat twang, and biscuity bready malt.

M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, mild to moderate carbonation.

O: Fun summer twist on a TS classic. Sure to be a crowd pleaser.
