Reminiscent of American Bock Beers of the 1960's that had the robust flavor and hoppy character of those seasonal beers.

Pours a black color. 1/5 inch head of an off-tan color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, yeast, slight hop, hint of pale malt, and a hint of caramel malt. Fits the category of a Bock. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, roasted malt, slight yeast, hint of hop, slight caramel malt, and a hint of dark citrus. Overall, a little too roasted, blend is a little off, weak appearance, but good aroma, body and feel. This was one of the worst beer I ever had six years ago, but they have made a great improvement over that time.

A: Pours a reddish/brown color. A small white head forms and recedes in a second. No lace.
S: Musky, earthy, and slightly sour. Some fruity esters. Way off on this one. Reminds me of bad homebrew.
T: Again, a strange mix of musky, earthy, fruity, and sour that I don't like.
M/D: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Not something I would want to come back to.
This is just blah, and not something I would revisit or recommend.
