DATE: October 22, 2022... OCCASION: three games in nine hours ends on the couch watching a Penn State whiteout with a beer from a brewery I have yet to sample... GLASSWARE: Schneider Weisse pokal... opaque, brown-amber body present as an iced tea might... its head is a cushy, clumpy off-white froth that rings that clings to the glass well enough... heavy cinnamon, allspice, tea, ginger, bubblegum and clove evoke a mashup of pumpkin and weizen--intriguing, if not a bit odd when some banana trickles in... a mellow, creamy, flat, medium-bodied mouthfeel akin to a lager... its finish is coating, a bit warming, and imparting of its key flavors... cinnamon, allspice, banana, clove, spelt, and some bittering herbs engage and reward with enough nuance to distinguish it from the plethora of orange canned offerings this time of year... glad to have found this one--not outstanding, but deceptively refreshing for a beer at 7% ABV...
