Very Good
Notes: Drink it ‘straight’ to appreciate the light tartness…Or repeat these words “Ich bin ein Berliner” and add a bit of elderflower, blackberry, or plum syrup just as they do along Kurfürstendamm.

I was told this was served with sugar plum syrup. Hazy pink-orange. Nose is fruity, I might have called it tropical (papaya ish) and orange, there's subtle cinnamon and vanilla. The flavor is kind of cotton candy like, emphasis on the candy. Not so much cinnamon. Not terribly tart. Light, fluffy mouthfeel.

On tap @ DSK in Brooklyn. Home of a couple BA after-parties when Beer for Beasts was a thing.

Liter mug. Pale straw, not quite clear, fizzy, lingering head, sans syrup.

Smell is seltzer, wheat, faint fruit rind.

Tastes of tart lemon, seltzer, mineral water, moderate acidity, faint wheat, no salt, a little more then thin, foamy & very carbonated, clean, replenishing goodness.

Very easy. Just a little pricey.

well made and super easy drinking berliner. i like it for a number of reasons. one, i can still taste the wheat in it. american brewers are going the way of soda with these, where its not at all about the grain but entirely about the added flavor, hops or fruit or whatever, but this one is well grounded with a nice pale wheat base. secondly, its not too sour, so many now are all about cranking the tartness, and while this does have a little pucker to it, its clean and bright, and not so acidic that i couldnt make a day of drinking these. i like this on its own, but they have some really cool syrups in here, a fruity basil one was really unique, and the beer seems perfectly suited to harbor these flavors while also still maintaining its own identity. the traditional german styles are what these guys do best, and this is another one of theirs thats a lot better than what most american craft producers are doing with the style. summery and easy, but with a lot of character too. nice berliner overall!

Light gold in color with a fingernail of dishwater white around the rim and covering half of the top. The aroma is of pale wheat and a fruitiness that is along the lines of raspberries. The taste is pale wheat along with the faint raspberry flavor and a hint of green apple. The mouth is crisp and moderately carbonated.

Pours a light completely clear gold color. Frothy white head dissipates steadily leaving no lacing or residual head. No lacing left as the beer is consumed. Effervescent in appearance.

Smell has notes of cereal, wheat, and grain up front with hints of light lemon and orange citrus notes, and a slight tartness coming through on the nose.

Taste follows the nose with lots of tart lemon and wheat up front. Tartness builds, like sucking a lemon, then disappears leaving a nice wheat flavor lingering on the dry finish. There is an overall citrus character - not just lemon - that builds in the tartness as you drink the beer. Very nice classic profile. Kind of like drinking tart lemonade - but not sweet at all.

Feel is light, tart, puckering and incredibly refreshing.

Overall this is an outstanding Berliner weisse - Definitely one of the best American examples of the style.

Pours golden straw with a quickly dissipating head.
The aroma is wheat, with a light lemony tartness.
The flavor is a light lemony sourness that you always get in this style with a light bready malt. It finishes with a mild dry grainy bitterness and some lingering tartness.
It's a super refreshing summer beer, and one of the few Berliners I've had that aren't puckeringly sour. It's very good, but I've had others in the style I enjoy more.

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw capped by an inch of foam; goo d retention and a few shards of lace hang around

Smell: Wheat bread and lactic lemon yogurt

Taste: Lactic lemon forward and bursting with flavor; light bready tones underneath; finishes dry with some tartness lingering

Mouthfeel: Light bodied and spritzy

Overall: Less than two weeks in the can and super-refreshing

5/26/2017: Cans finally came out, still the same rating.

Slightly hazed pale gold with rising streams of carbonation, initial head extends to two fingers width. No lace.
Aroma has a brief wisp of sulfur and lemon yogurt tang, some plain wheat behind that.
Taste is manageably tart with a spritz of lemon juice in plain yogurt, popcorn kernels and wheat cereal.
Light bodied with lower carbonation, could use a bit more. A touch bland.

Overall this is pretty utilitarian for the style, first thing I thought was, "what can I put in this?"
Your mileage may vary, but there are more interesting Berliners out there.
