Got four of these on sale. 16.9 oz bottles.

Having had it twice now (one a few nights ago)I'd say it is one of the better milk stouts: nice creamy mouthfeel, and nice roasted chocolaty notes in the flavor.

Poured out a dark, dark brown color with a light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate and caramel sweetness. Nice rich chocolate flavor. Sweet and creamy.

Aroma is dark malts, chocolate and a mix of earthy malts and mild sweetness. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate/cocoa, mild fruit/dark fruit and a slightly grainy/sweet finish.

Pours black with a tan head. Not much lacing. Smells like chocolate powdered drink. Tastes like it too. Mouthfeel is medium. Overall, meh. Good if you like Nesquick.

I think I had built this up in my mind as something else. The label makes it out to be a chocolate milk stout. It was bitter with little sweetness. Label misunderstandings aside, it was a well executed stout. Roasty, malty, complex stouty goodness

500ml bottle. 11/21/16 bottle date. Appearance: Jet black and opaque, with a thick brown head and average lacing. Aroma: Sweet chocolate, some cream, and roasted malt leaves a creamed coffee overall aroma. Taste: Starts sweet and milk chocolate-like, quickly turning to a bitter and slightly acrid coffee roast. Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied, a touch of creaminess, and a moderate carbonation. Finish: Very dry, lingering bitter coffee roast. Only a touch of residual sweetness. Very similar to finish of a dry stout. Overall: Starts promising with a sweet chocolate flavor, but quickly turns toward a dry stout with a sharp roast and bitterness that sticks around long after the swallow. Almost a little acrid and body is a tad thin. Overall, a nice beer, but probably middle of the pack compared to other milk stouts. Has some rough edges that could be smoothed out

Pours ebony with a pinky of tan head. Some lacing & head retention

S: A little iron, a little cocoa & woody hops

T: Lactic sourness, some cocoa, leafy hops up front. More of the same as this warms, dryness & a little woody hops. Finishes with a little too much sourness, leafy hops & cocoa

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation

Okay, but not one I would recommend

Appearance: Opaque black with a nice head of tan foam. Very little lace, though.

Aroma: Creamy cocoa, a little bittersweet. Subtle.

Taste: Nice and chocolatey, with a slight bittersweet finish. Creamy body, and a hint of a burnt taste, as well. A solid and enjoyable chocolate milk stout.

500ml bottle w/ no date

Pours cola in color, with a thick but fizzy puff of foam. Not much to the nose. Really not much in the taste either, and definitely very little chocolate, if any at all. Very thin. This drinks almost like a brown ale that is a bit past its prime.

I love UCBC and most of their beers but this one was way off. The cocoa doesn't appear well enough and the body is cloying and unpleasant. I doubt this was a good beer before they added lactose and cocoa nibs and now it is a mess. I ended up pouring most of my bottles down the drain after trying them separately spread out over a few weeks. If you aren't paying attention to this beer you can drink it, but if you like to focus on beer and how it tastes, this misses the boat.

Poured from a 0.5 l bottle into a Duvel tulip. No bottled on or best by date is evident.

Look -- Pours an opaque black with a finger of light tan head that leaves nice lacing.

Smell -- Large amounts of chocolate overlaying dark roasted grains and coffee with sweetness permeating it all.

Taste -- Very much like the nose except the coffee and dark roasted grain elements become more prominent. It avoids tasting like a beer spiked with Hersey's syrup like some chocolate beers I've had. All in all quite nice, it reads milk stout and chocolate.

Feel -- Fairly thin mouthfeel for a stout though that may be because it seems fairly aggressively carbonated for a stout. It reads more porter on my palate than stout but it's certainly not watery.

Overall -- A nice tasty chocolate milk stout that avoids the Hersey's syrup effect. Really my only complaint is the thin mouthfeel for the style.
