While its name pays Reverence to the “ator” tradition of this historic, German style, we decided to Revolution-ize our take on it with the addition of maple syrup, adding even more complexity to the deep, rich, and toasty maltiness of this classic Bock Lager style.

Copper colored with a fairly significant amount of moderately sized sediment within the body. There's a fingernail of khaki around half of the rim and covering a quarter of the top. The aroma is of sweet malt, grassy German hops, and faintly sweet maple syrup. The mouth is a bit more carbonated than I would have thought for a malt, but the ABV is also a bit higher and Urban Chestnut likes to stray from stylistic guidelines.

Amber with disappearing head. Smell is nice, definitely maple. I like the taste, but you can tell the maple is an add on later. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's like a nice beer with maple syrup Mixed in. Nice, interesting, I'll drink again

Poured a redish-brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aromas of caramel and maple syrup. Taste is sweet; the caramel and maple flavors mix well with a very mild bitterness.

500 mL bottled 11/14/16 poured into 500 mL Krug mug at fridge temp. Color is brown to copper depending on light. Short lived white head leaves only a barely visible ring with no lacing. Smell is faint maple and malt. Taste is sweet malt but no maple. Mouthfeel is below average as it's a little sweeter and more sticky than I would prefer. Overall, good but not great. A bit of a letdown from one of the best traditional German breweries we have access to here in southwest IN.

Reddish orange with sharp clarity and rising carb trails.
Pleasant maple aroma, natural and not overly sweet, some bready malt.
Taste has a good maple presence too, some sweetness, a little apple ester from the yeast.
Medium bodied and lightly sweet, it's drinkable and pretty good.

16oz bottle. Poured out a clear, copper color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of sweet caramel, maple syrup and floral notes. Sweet caramel and maple flavors with a very mild bitterness.

Tastes like a sweet brown ale. 8% abv, according to brewery web page and has a smooth mouth feel, medium carbonation. Seems a little thin for a bock, but I drink more doppels. Some malt and sweetness, but hard pressed to narrow the sweet flavor to any maple syrup unless told/read label. Nothing special here, but drinkable. Not exactly this brewery's best effort.

Aroma is toffee, malts and earthy. The flavor is caramel/toffee, fruit, malts, mild maple syrup, slightly slick and a mild/medium sweetness in the finish.

This brew is a brownish-honey colored brew with a light white head. The aroma is mostly maple, with some brown malt and a little underlying hop notes. The taste is sweet...quite sweet, and the maple comes out quite a bit in the taste. Warming. Full in body and satisfying.

Pours an effervescent orange/copper with 1 finger of cream colored head. Stays effervescent, no head retention or lacing

S: Bready, white grapejuice

T: Follows the nose, a little maple syrup sweetness/dryness up front, along with a little leafy hop. A little apple juice, with some maple sryup as this warms along with dryness & leafy hops. Finishes with a little boozey warmth, dryness, a kiss of maple sryup, white grape & leafy hops

MF: A little thin, pretty firm carbonation, a little boozey warmth, body thickens up a bit as it warms

Had High hopes for this one, more malt backbone please

Not sure what's going on with this brewery, but but digging their stuff less & less
