This clean, crisp, cold conditioned ale with subtle fruit and hop character and medium-low maltiness is the trademark beer from Cologne (Köln). As the official beer of the St. Louis Zoo, UCBC will donate $3 per every case sold to support its animal care and conservation efforts.

Gold in color with an inch of densely packed off white on top. There are traces of fine particles suspended in the body. The aroma is of light cereal grains. I’m tasting light cereal grains with light malt and honey. The mouth is light and delicate.

Pours darker straw color - almost golden. Completely clear and brilliantly effervescent. Thick three finger head dissipates steadily leaving no residual head.
Aroma has notes of cereal grains, dried corn, some floral grassy hop notes, and a touch of sweet bread.
Taste follows the nose with a strong cereal grain character quickly followed by some light lemon, lemon grass, and floral hop notes. Flavors, especially the grainy notes, are a bit harsh. Semi-dry finish.
Feel is light, semi-crisp, mild carbonation. Pretty easy drinking.
Overall a solid kolsch. Its a bit rough around the edges and that holds it back a bit.

From a tall aluminum can, this brew is gold with just a light haze. Wonderful tall and thick white head. The aroma is pleasant, lightly sweet with some grain. The taste has a bit of malt up front, with a crisp finish. Nice balance. This is a great summer beer.

Pale gold with thick head. Crisp, yeasty and fruity aromas with a little lemony citrus. Malt is white bread. A little pepper, a hint of funk. The flavor follows. A little on the sweeter side with a moderate bitterness.
