a supremely well executed take on the style, as the name is not shy in suggesting, but they are right, this is dialed, clean as they come, and drinkable to high heaven, really dug it! its bright yellow, quite clear although not mirror glazed, very well carbonated with a better than standard white head on it. the aroma is earthy, well grounded, balanced, and also quite bright, uplifting and fresh, true to style but it has its own personality due to the exclusive use of a french hop called mistral that should be more prevalent than it is in beers like this. it exhibits some noble characteristics, that grassy herbal profile, but also has a more jovial citrus element, tangerine or clementine, kumquat and meyer lemon, daffodil, and honeysuckle, springy by nature, and still able to bitter this enough as well, pulling double duty, love it! the flavor is not just hop driven, this is really well balanced by crispy classic pils malt, clean and classic water chemistry, and a lager yeast that is familiar and old worldy and expertly used here, but its the hops that makes this what it is to me, makes it stand out, herbal through most of it, bee balm and wheatgrass notes, then blooming into spring meadow and juicy lime, albeit subtle, at the end. snappy tidy bitterness on the swallow, rushing refreshing carbonation, gorgeous minerality and sparkle, and finally dry and just gone. really good beer, i could drink this every day, love the hop expression in here, makes an already great lager really special. bravo!
