Bavarian-style Maibock brewed at Urban Chestnut in collaboration with Old Nation Brewing.

Rich malty notes of bread crusts. Complex malt aroma of moderately rich bread crust with a lightly toasted quality. Low spicy, herbal hop aroma. Hop bitterness is medium low. Although the beer is quite malty, the finish is pleasantly dry.

Cloudy orange body with a smaller sudsy khaki head. Grassy hops with honey malts, orange, peel, and floral yeast. Taste almost has a peach creamsicle kind of flavor to go with the honey malt, floral yeast, and grassy hops. Not traditional, but I don’t hate it. Feel smooth with a biting edge, but misses the smooth bright maltiness that the style is famous for

Golden amber in color. Off white head that's somewhat weak. Not a strong aroma: just hints of malt. Taste is a bread and caramel. Body is medium. My review doesn't make it sound as good as it is. One of the best Maibock's this year.

Collab with Old Nation. Canned 04.29.24, reviewed 06.23.24. Poured into my short, wide mug.

L -- Somewhat hazy (might be an abundance of carbonation -- will double-check another can soon), deep gold-amber with a cream-colored head that pours dense then settles to a thin, presistent cap.

S -- Light doughy malts and light stone fruit esters.

T -- Doughy, sweet malts with light melanoidin notes. Light fruit notes and herbal hops in the finish and aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is soft to chewy with a medium to light-robust body.

O -- A very nice take on the style if not for appearance. Quite enjoyable.

I had this beer on tap at the Grove brewery then picked up a four-pack to take home. The beer is a clear deep golden-amber color with a tall cream-colored rocky head. Clean, solid malty aroma. Very faint vegetal DMS note. Spot-on smell. The taste is lightly sweet with a firm pale malt flavor throughout the taste. Medium body with medium-light carbonation. This is a tasty and enjoyable brew.
