Pale gold in color with a lightly hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of off white covering a quarter of the rim. There’s aroma is of pale and faintly crackery malt. I am tasting very subtle pale doughy to saltine cracker like malt. The mouth is very delicate and approachable.

 

This is "a beer that tastes like beer," NA version. Poured cold from a 12-ounce can into a stemless wine glass. Much like its flagship big brother, Zwickel, Pilot's color is a slightly hazy pale yellow with a white head that disappeared in short order. Light malt on the nose and palate, with notes of hay, citrus, and tart apple, plus a floral overtone that lingers on the palate. Good carbonation from beginning to end. The mouthfeel is quite watery. The finish is crisp with some tart apple lingering on the palate. Refreshing, good flavor, and 40 calories per can: not much to complain about here. Recommended.
