Enjoyed on-tap @ Urban Chestnut Brewing Company in St. Louis, MO for $5. Tapped from the Orange/Blue Tap Handle w/ a Wooden base into a Footed Pilsner Glass.
Aroma- Good amount of german malt and clean lager aroma with definite fruit esters at the finish! Nice amounts of hop hanging around here too. Shouldn't be in the style but still awesome!
Appearance- Received with a 1 finger head that dies fairly quickly. Has a nice caramel colored body with tons of ingredient within. Leaves thick lacing afterwards.
Flavor- Tons of grain and malty sweetness that are the initial flavor. Then a nice caramel and medium hop flavor come in. Light-Medium hop bitterness at the finish.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, a bit creamy, and then leaves grain on the palate but not much else.
Overall Impression- Wow! Fantastic brew from UCBC! I would highly recommend ordering one of these if you want a nice hop twist on the Marzen/Oktoberfest style! I'm hoping to get my palate on the Hopswitch 2- Pilsner but didn't have enough time to get around to it this visit. Love this place!
