another underwhelming hoppy beer from urban chestnut. the hard stuff they seem to have dialed, the pales and india pales, not so much. this one pours a lighter copper color with a short white head that dies fast. it smells like generic English pale and cara malt, a little boring, but fresh and lighter for the style. the hop here is bitter only, not much going on aromatically, and there really is no flavor to it, just that sort of classic English bitterness. the beer is true to style pretty well, but it doesn't excite me in the slightest. dry finish is refreshing, but it needs more bubbles. this seems to be a consistent problem at urban chestnut for me, at least this go around. medium body, a sessionable beer if it doesn't bore you. it bored me.

Served on tap at Urban Chestnut on 4/19/2013 into a pint glass.
Appearance: cloudy, murky, orange.
Smell: floral fruits from the Triskel hops, orange, zest, spice
Taste: Mild carbonation, not overwhelming bitterness or bite. Good mouthfeel.
Overall: good beer, this is an interesting experiment.
