A thanks to the prince of porters, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Despite zero agitation, this beer came oozing out, resulting in a black color with several inches of head. Smell is of mild chocolate. Taste is coffee, chocolate, a bit on the mild side. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is o.k., but nothing special.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a nice level finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head that concaved to leave a thin little valley of a film of a head. With the sips, the head dissipated to leave some refined lace to a light filminess.
The aroma had a nice fresh milk chocolate scent up front playing with a mild roasty coffee grounds to beans sort of blend. Delicate caramel sweet clean malty tones.
The flavor leaned slightly sweet but did bring in a good level of that roasty coffee bean to grounds-like taste. Aftertaste was roasty and sweet with the caramel to milk chocolate meshing together pretty nice.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fairly decent sessionable to sipping quality about it. I'd say this could be a decent "dessert porter" considering how I'm starting to find myself sipping it a bit more as it's warming. Nicely done finish of the milk chocolate with the roast. There is a bit more of an unexpected "roasty grip" on my tongue, but I did accept it as time went on.
Overall, to me, I'd say this was a very nicely done dessert porter that I would love to have again.

A two finger head with a phenomenal retention, the head is tan in color and is creamy and foamy. The color of the beer is dark brown and opaque, no discernable hue. The head did leave some lacing on the glass.
N: A very bright dark chocolate and milk chocolate notes with a touch of dark roasted malts, toffee, earthy, biscuits, and some subtle fruity ester.
A very rich espresso, dark chocolate notes with a touch of burnt character. The beer has some earthy notes, biscuit, yeast there is a dry sweetness, and fruity ester.
A medium body, medium light carbonation, a little dry and medium plus finish.
This is a very good porter. Excellent flavor profile, the burnt character is just a touch overwhelming but it is not every sip.

Pours brown-black with moderate head wih a thin lingering foam. Smell is roasted malts and chocolate, which blend into a smooth sweetness with some light acidity on the end. Love the smell of this one. Taste is chocolate and roasted malts. Feel is smooth and mild. Maybe a touch thin. Overall, very good for the style.

S - Pretty mild chocolate.
T - Roasted grain, chocolate, some char, lattee.
M - Medium-heavy body and Light-medium carbonation give a smooth creamy feel.
O - Quite Tasty.
