A: Good clarity, a light dry orange coloring shows little in the way of carbonation from the pour. Small weak holding head, some wheaty froth, with very little lace decoration.
S: The nose provided a small amount of fruitiness, apple and pear in particular, fair in strength per stlye with perhaps a touch of whole peach.
T: Flavor showed a bit of peach and dry fruitiness. Small toasty grains, apple and pear as with the nose. Sweet malts with some sugary toasted nature. Really digging this. Apple sauce from the yeast, sweet fruity cereal grains.
M: Medium body, dry fruit and bitterness on the tongue as well a light amount of carbonation.
O: Maibocks usually don’t garnish a lot of attention from both drinkers and breweries, and are somewhat under represented. I really liked the sweet toasty fruitiness here, with the lightly sweet malts that blend well to make a good drinker. Definitely worth a try to break up all those IPAs I’ve been kicking on lately.
