The pint can that was emptied entirely into a clear glass liter mug poured more foamy than most Pilsners. Instead of a proper stark white head on top of a nearly crystal clear very lightly amber colored beer, there's a mess. It receded quickly, unevenly and unattractively, leaving sporadic lacing. This smells like a Pilsner, although not a great one, with its mild hops and Pilsner malt identifiable. The taste is nearly as characterless as the hue is colorless. It doesn't drink any better than a typical adjunct lager and many of them are actually more flavorful. It does provide just enough Pilsner malt and appropriate hopping to be acceptable as a Pilsner. The mouthfeel salvages little, as it's not much better than a Miller Lite. OK, it doesn't drink like something with an ABV at five and a half percent. Unfortunately, this is Pilsner light and there are so many other tasty options available, especially locally, here in Pennsylvania.

Crystal clear golden color. White head minimized and laces nicely down the glass. Typical pilsner taste. Grass smell up front. Balanced hops and malts. Very good pilsner.

Having spent the past week CANmitted to only drinking AmeriCAN CANned beers in support of (ISO) the 4th of July & then getting on a brewery horizontal kick, it is time to begin branching out again. I have plenty more to keep The CANQuest (tm) going strong!
From the CAN: "Nicht Lang Schnacken. Kopf In Nacken!"; "Stop Talking. Start Drinking!"
Oooh, back to another "1 Pint [CAN of] German Style Pilsner"! I love the loud Crack! when opening the vent on these CANs & this was no exception. I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug since the sheer volume alone was more than I wanted to deal with as a potential mess. It puffed up beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose had a very pleasant bready maltiness, not as honeyed as the previous ones, but still very bready with a light grassy hoppiness. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on par for the style. The taste was MUCH more mellow than the previous ones! Here, the malts were subdued & the hops were more grassy than hay-like, very soft, very rounded & highly quaffable. Leave it to a Lancaster Co., PA brewery to nail it! Our Pennsylvania Dutch (Deutch) heritage almost dictates that if you are going to brew here, you had best know how to make Lager-style beers. We have been Lager-slurpers since the creation of our county between Lager beers & pretzels, we are seCANd to none! I am so enamored of this beer right now … It is perfect for a hot, humid Summer's day & I CAN easily envision drinking these in quantity. Finish was semi-dry, just the way I prefer a GER Pils to be. Semi-sweet is also allowable in the style, but my preference is semi-dry. Fully dry & I question whether it should not have been a Czech Pils. YMMV.

Look- pours crystal clear pale gold with a billowing head that settles to about 1/2 finger
Aroma- begins with a somewhat sweet light bready note followed closely by spicy and grassy hops
Taste- follows the nose w/the same malt and hop qualities, along with a firm hop bitterness. The grassy notes also have a pleasant subtle fruitiness to them, an almost grape-like quality, that I really enjoyed. The spicy hops sort of dance around in the background but are definitely noticeable.
Feel- light bodied with medium carb and a dry bitter finish
Overall- solid take in a German-style Pilsner with the aforementioned unique subtle fruity quality to it that really enhanced the drinking experience and made me want more and more.
