And now, at long last, acCANding to them, my grand hurrah with St. Boniface B.C.! have had a number of their beers come to light out of the backlog here at Chez Woody, but they feel CANpelled to shame me for not having gotten to them sooner. Fine, if you only want me to get to your beers right away, let me know now so that I CAN avoid buying them for the foreseeable future. No problem. The CANQuest (tm) will chug along without you just fine, thanks.

I was absolutely kid gloves in terms of handling this CAN, but when I beCAN to Crack! the vent, I got some immediate foaming, causing me to back off. I allowed its CANtents some calming time before CANtinuing with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was kind of subtle, tropical-citrusy, but not so pronounced as to be able to directly identify. It was going to be a surprise! Mouthfeel was medium., light for an AIIPA/ADIPA. The flavors were jangly, very citrusy atop a more mellow tropical quality, but they were not working well together. That is to say, the citrusiness wanted to be dominant while the tropical fruitiness just wanted to be heard. As a result, there was shouting (citrus) with a CANstant, CANsistant bassline underneath it. Hmm. It was actually working out to a centerline mellowness, which was totes unexpected. Finish was semi-dry, moderately bitter, marginally in the style & yet still very enjoyable. YMMV.
